Lori came to Shanghai to visit me in November over Thanksgiving. She left Mark and the kids behind and spent 10 days in China. We expolored Shanghai and we even got to run up to Beijing for a few days.
We went downtown and saw the sights on the Pudong side...
We had "high tea" at the 80 something floor of the World Financial Tower...I believe it is the highest hotel in the world.
We sat overlooking JinMao Tower, the Pearl Tower and the HuangPu River.
We visited one of the local water villages a few hours outside of Shanghai.
After Thanksgiving, we took the high speed train to Beijing. We visited the Forbidden City.
Outside the Forbidden City...
Lori and I doing a little shopping and warming up.
At the bottom of the Great Wall before we get on the lift to take us to the top.
The map of the part of the Great Wall we visited...
We needed a little snack on our hike.
We visted a cloisonne factory on the way back to Beijing.
Back in Beijing, this is the site of the Olympics a few years ago.
Back in Shanghai, we visited the Fabric market that I often shopped.
Lori had a coat made at one of the taylors...
And now on to the pearl market to do a little shopping...
