A little of our Neighborhood...

Roger is out of town (back in Michigan...poor Roger) and we gave the driver the day off so we deceided to take a bike ride this afternoon.  We took the camera along because Claire has "Dotty" from her pre-school class (she is a ladybug) and she needs to have some pictures of some of the things that Dotty did while spending the week with her (kinda like Flat Stanley).  So...here are a few pictures of our afternoon.

A block down the road from our house...right across from school...

One side of the sidewalk is for "walkers" and the other is for bicycles...of couse whenever I am on the wrong side, Lindsay and Claire are yelling from the Burley that I am on the wrong side of the sidewalk.  They are so smart!

Lindsay and Claire are a LONG way from ridding by themselves on the Shanghai streets, hopefully, they will not out grow the Burley anytime soon. (Did you spot Dotty?)

This is the Elementry school at Concordia and the elementry entrance...it is Saturday so it is deserted and the gate is closed.  (Did you spot Dotty? Hint...she is on the gate)

At the local Starbucks...need some Cofffee...it is too cold outside!

Taking a break at one of more  frequent stops...lots of restaurants, Starbucks, grocery and a big store that we buy all of our sports (including Roger's bikes) equipment at.  Today it was VERY busy.

One of these signs shows all of the "Peanut Soups" they have...Peanut Soup, Peanut Soup with Tofu, Peanut Soup with Fruit, etc.

One of the groceries that we frequent...this one carries mostly import items...as you can see the Pop Tarts in the back ground...of course you pay for them (probably around 50 RMB or ~$8).

Here is the video store that we like...carries almost any movie you would ever want to watch.  For about 14 RMB (~$2), you can buy whatever you want.

The girls posing in fronts of Mom's fav...and showing off our purchases...Strawberries, bread, fruit roll ups and the Lady and the Tramp 2 (oh...and there is Dotty as well).

Out front they took down the Christmas decorations and are the in the process of building what we believe is a Chinese New Year Decoration...it is the year of the rabbit.

Outside of Starbucks

Okay...this was the mascot for the 2010 Expo...they are all over the city...I am sure they will probably start dissapearing soon.

Here is the mega grocery store...Carrefour.  It is usually crazy busy and I try not to go here unless I have to.

Around the corner is another area of a bunch of restaurants (a lot of "western style"), hair salons, massage parlors, etc.  We deceided to eat at Johnny Moo's tonight.  It is one of the girls favorites...

As normal, they got breakfast with milkshakes.

It got dark while we were eating and very cold...we better hurry home.

Okay...finally home.  Of course, the girls didn't last and fell asleep on the way home.  I'm sure they will wake up to watch the movie though.
